Jenny R Johnson is a Canadian oil painter and lifelong Trek fan.

“Star Trek: TNG means so much to me. I discovered it at a time in my life when I badly needed some hope- I was 12 years old, in seventh grade, spending my lunch hours hiding in the library… and the crew of the Enterprise became my friends at a time that I desperately needed some. The universe they inhabited was my daily escape from the present, and introduced me to the idea of found family.

Eventually, a chance conversation about TNG led to a connection with a group of kids a few years older than me… and that connection bloomed into lifelong friendships that have lasted more than two decades.

Watching the final episode, All Good Things…, with that group of friends, is one of my most cherished memories. Seeing the crew, the family, together like that at the moment we were losing them was such a comfort, and it is an image that still has such a strong emotional resonance for me. I had to paint it.”
